    Default Quiet

Do you think a new version of ADOM in the works would stir discussion on the forums? Or would it remain rather quiet? What else might it take? There hasn't even been a victory post for 8 months. For the size of the most prolific of the community I think we have a decent number of lurkers on top of active members but they don't participate much and there's probably a lot of turnover.

Much like the frog-boiling metaphor, slow incremental updates are easy to get used to so it feels like playing the same game. I speculate and hope the reason for lack of small iterative updates is that the author of the game is piecing together a plan for a big surprise update that changes a lot. Perhaps also liaising with others (from co-dev's to outsiders) to improve it even more. I would be pleased as punch if this turns out to be true, even if it does mean a buggy launch version. 😁

Might be also that the platform that the forum runs on looks a bit dated (and is). People also expect to login with facebook, google or apple these days.

I think I'd want to spectate somebody from time to time.
The old server ran by Jaakkos was pretty cool and I'd love to see something like this going once more.
I suppose that *might* bring back some activity to the game; it would need to be easily accessible from the forum/website and straightforward to use.
But I could be wrong, maybe this is the way things are, the interest had dwindled and there's not much that can be done to bring back the old days.
