    Default Polymorphing

    Hi all,

I'm trying to polymorph a ring of djini summoning to get an amulet of life saving for Khelavaster. I'm using only blessed rings and blessed potions of exchange on D:8 and already wasted like 5 potions with at least 50 rings. I already got like 3 Rings of see invisible, so I guess it should be the correct dungeon level. If I remember correctly, I always got a ring after like 2-3 tries in the past. Did the mechanics change at some point or am I simply unlucky? It is really frustrating because I have a really good character but got neither the amulet nor a climbing set to reach the western part of the map.

Mechanics have changed. I believe you can only get one ring of Djinni Summoning per game by this method in newer releases.

It has been that way four years or so.

If you are in a ring collecting mode... get lots of higher thanDL8 rings and dip them into raw chaos at d8.
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
    (after 15 I stopped counting...)

Incidentally there are two well established places to find Climbing Sets
The Pyramid (only open level 13 to 16)
The Gremlin Cave (made less frustrating with some form of invisibility and/or some ability to disarm traps)

Thanks for the hints. I found the climbing set in the Gremlin Cave, that helped a lot. Finally, I also got a wish after converting like ~200 rings on D8, just to realize that I cannot go for an ultimate ending anyway. In the endgame, I then found two wands of wishing shortly before the final level. Almost like the game was making fun of me. That was a really strange run.

You would not be the first to suspect the creator actually uses carefully designed artificial intelligence solely for the purpose of making fun of players, last game I played first two artifacts Bracers of War and Bracers of Pure Might (usually I would love either of these and never see them till close to end game)
